Auckland

Nach unserem sehr entspannten Business Flug, fuhren wir mit dem Skybus in das Stadtzentrum von Auckland. Vor der Haustüre von unserem ersten Neuseeland Host Nitin, trafen wir Georgina und Karl aus England. Sie übernachteten ebenfalls bei Nitin und seinen WG-Kollegen. Den ersten Abend verbrachten wir mit Bier trinken in der Headquarters Bar am Hafen von Auckland. Die Stimmung war super und das Wetter perfekt. Eine Live-Band verbesserte die Stimmung nochmals. Auf dem nach Hause Weg trafen wir dann Nitin und seine Kollegen. Natürlich wollten sie weiterfeiern. Wir waren aber sooooo müde, dass wir uns auf sein Sofa quetschten und in einen komatösen Schlaf verfielen. Am nächsten Morgen war allgemeine Katerstimmung, uns ging es im Gegensatz zu den andern sehr gut. Wir machten Frühstück und kurz darauf trafen wir ohne Vorwarnung einen weiteren Kollegen (Vivek) von Nitin, der uns zum Hunua Wasserfall fuhr. Es war wunderschön! Natürlich gingen wir schwimmen, auch wenn davon abgeraten wurde. 😉 Danach gab es bei Vivek zu Hause super feine, selbstgemachte Pasta. Zurück in Auckland trafen wir Dominik und die beiden Karin’s aus Baar. Wir hatten einen gemütlichen Abend mit Bier, Fish&Chips und super Live-Musik in einem Irish Pub, wieder am schönen Hafen von Auckland. Am nächsten Morgen fuhren wir mit Pratham (einer der drei WG-Kollegen von Nitin) und Vivek zum Piha Beach. Ein toller Strand, aber man kann nicht wirklich entspannt baden, da die Wellen so stark sind. Gleich danach liefen wir durch den schönen Regenwald zum Wasserfall Kitekite. Einfach toll! Unser zweiter Wasserfall in Auckland. Natürlich gingen wir baden und genossen die Abkühlung. Dank Pratham und Vipul (weiterer WG-Kollege von Nitin), durften wir später gratis auf den Skytower. Es ist gigantisch, man hat eine 360° Aussicht auf Auckland. Nach einer schnellen Stärkung in der Skycity gingen wir noch alle zusammen bowlen. Zum Abschluss des Abends, kochten Vipul und Natascha ein super feines, indisches Curry.

Am nächsten Tag konnten wir unser kleines Jucy Auto abholen. Wir fuhren zu Dominik und Karin, um uns zu verabschieden. Da die beiden 8 Wochen in Neuseeland rumgereist sind, hatten sie Zelt, Luftmatratze und diverse Kochutensilien, die sie nicht mehr gebrauchen konnten. Wir waren dankbare Abnehmer, da wir noch keine Ausrüstung hatten. Somit startete unsere Reise in Neuseeland.

 

After the relaxed Business flight, we took the Skybus to the Centre of Auckland. In front of the door from our next Couchsurfing Host Nitin, we met Georgina and Karl from England. Both were Couchsurfers as well and stayed at Nitin’s place. The first evening in Auckland we spend with drinking beer in the Headquarters pub at the nice harbour front of Auckland. The atmosphere was great and the weather perfect. With the live-music was this evening amazing. On the way back, we met Nitin and his friends. Of course, they wanted to go out furthermore. But we were sooo tired, as we felt asleep straight away on Nitin’s couch. The next morning everyone was hangovered from last night, but we were feeling very well. We met Vivek, another friend of Nitin, and together we drove to the nice Hunua Falls. It was amazing. Of course, we went swimming in the falls pool, even though it was prohibited. 😉 After the swim, we had delicious self-made Pasta at Vivek’s place. Back in Auckland, we met Karin and Dominik and another Karin from our hometown Baar. We spent a great evening together, drinking beer, eating fish&chips and listen to live music at an Irish Pub again at the nice harbour front of Auckland. The next morning, we drove together with Pratham (flatmate of Nitin) and Vivek to the Piha beach at the west coast. This beach was nice, but the waves were too strong for having a bath. After the beach we made a short stroll through the rainforest to our second waterfall in Auckland. The Kitekite falls were amazing and we had a refreshing swim there as well. Thanks, Pratham and Vipul (another flatmate of Nitin) we had free entry to the Skytower in Auckland. We enjoyed the 360° view from up there. After some snacks in the skycity we went bowling and had lot of fun. This evening ends with a nice Indian curry, cooked from Vipul and Natascha.

The next day, we could pick up our small Jucy Car, we have rented in advance. First, we drove to Dominik and Karin’s place to say good bye. Because they just have been travelling 8 weeks in New Zealand and don’t need their tent and camping stuff anymore, we could come into a lot of stuff from them. We were so lucky, because we haven’t bought any camping gears so far. So, our journey through New Zealand could begin.
