Iguazu Falls

From Peru to Paraguay / Brasil / Argentina (4 countries in one day)

Early in the morning we landed in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay. Our goal today was Puerto Iguazu in Argentina, where we planned to meet Jessi in the early afternoon! Because of a very slow bus (high traffic!) from the airport to the bus station in the city centre, we missed our bus which goes direct to Foz de Iguazu in Brasil! That was the start of our crazy bus day. It was funny and exhausting at the same time. We had to take many busses. Because the busses which drives you to the border, were not waiting for you, we had to take a new bus after we got the stamps at the brasilean border. At the end we took a taxi from the border of Brazil to our Airbnb house in Puerto Iguazu. There we finally met Jessi! She was already worrying, because we were sooooo late and she had no idea where we are! But luckily it was a happy end and we met finally. Ende gut alles gut! 😊 Our Airbnb was amazing, we had a little two floor flat for us alone.

Foz de Iguazu

After our first night in our perfect flat, we walked to the border of Argentina and took a bus to the Iguazu falls on the Brazilian side. The view was breath taking, beautiful and a lot more. We saw many really cool animals called “quotis” (Nasenbären). These are little ‘’bears’’ who walked around and took everyone’s food they could find or steal from the tourists like monkeys. In the afternoon we went to city centre of Foz de Iguazu to watch the football game Brazil-Belgium. It was great to experience this amazing atmosphere during a football game in Brasil. Sadly, Brazil lost 1:2 against Belgium! Everyone cries! ☹ Back home, we made a delicious risotto and went to sleep. We could not wait to see the Iguazu falls again from the Argentinian side. We had an amazing day, we walked around the beautiful park, had lunch and took a boat close to the falls. That was a special adventure. The tour guide said in advance, we’ll have a nice shower. We all thought, it’s a joke and we won’t get that wet. But as we were close to the falls, we had a real shower, we were wet, totally wet! It was awesome. Because of the perfect weather we dried fast. On the way back to the exit we saw many monkeys, so cute! We couldn’t see the whole park, so we went again to the falls the next day and walked up to the Devil’s Throat. A marvellous view! But sadly, many tourists. In the village Puerto Iguazu we had our lunch and walked to the 3 Fronteras afterwards. From this place, we could see the three countrys: Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

After these amazing 3 days, we were curious about our next stop. In the morning we ordered a taxi to the airport Foz de Iguazu and flew to Belo Horizonte. A city in Brasil around 450km north of Rio de Janeiro. This morning was also our first time, we ate the famous cheese bread “pao de qejio”! yammi
